Wish list for your wedding – Tips, Hints and Advises

First steps for personal wish lists

  • Using one of our sample wish lists both simplifies and accelerates the creation of your personal wedding registry, especially if you want to integrate your honeymoon
  • Write a personal greeting for your wish list
  • A picture of you makes your wedding registry more attractive
  • If you have wishes for your honeymoon please describe details of your trip, too

Your contact person

  • Nominate a contact person for your wish list and your wedding. This person helps with questions and problems. Your contact person could be a family member, the witness or a good friend
  • Your contact person or a family member can also visit your guests who do not have internet access (grandparents?). Thus, these guests can choose gifts from a printed version of your wedding registry. These wishes will be taken down from your registry in a further step. Therefore, nobody is excluded from your wish list

Select gifts your guest will happily give

  • Add many different gift ideas on your personal wish list.
  • Split expensive items into several minor ones. For example: slit your complete honeymoon travel into flight, hotel nights, breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks, and snacks.
  • Add 50% more gift ideas to your wish list than the number of invited guests. Some guests prefer to make several inexpensive gifts than one major one. Further, your wish list should provide adequate choices. Thus, every wedding guest can choose the gift she or he likes.
  • Choose gift ideas with different price levels. On your wish list should be enough gifts that are inexpensive, but especially charming. Thus, your wedding guests with a lower budget can gift you with meaningful presents, too.

The invitation to your gift wish list

  • Send your invitations directly from your honeywish user account. The invitation email contains both the link to your personal wedding registry and the password which is necessary for your guests to access your wish list.
  • Compose a personal text for your invitation to your personal bridal registry. To get suggestions look at our sample registries.
  • Check in the Invitation Manager tool which guests visited your wedding registry.
  • Send a reminder email to guests who did not visit your wish list 2-3 weeks before the wedding. Ask them if your invitation ended in the spam filter.
  • Communicate your wedding registry with your wedding invitation. All you need to do is to add your personal honeywish URL and the guest password in the invitation.
  • Integrate your gift registry into your personal website or blog. Just copy the HTML code provided in your honeywish user account and paste ist to your website.

Receive gifts from your online wish list

  • Do not forget to activate your wish list for guests access
  • Choose the payment options which you want to provide to your guests. Add the required payment information (your PayPal account, your bank account if you like to receive wire transfers). Only with this information honeywish can get you instant cash for all wedding gifts.
  • If a gift was bought from your wedding registry you will receive an email notification.
  • A list of all gifts received with the names of the guests who made them is visible at any time in your honeywish account.

Saying “Thank you” for the gifts received from your wish list

  • Write individual thank you notes to all guests who made gifts from your wish list. You will find an overview of who made what gift in your honeywish gift manager.
  • Our tip: If you use honeywish as a honeymoon registry, take pictures of every honeymoon gift you receive and include them in your thank you cards. There is no better way to say “thanks” than your smile while enjoying the experience.
