Drive your rental car from Windhoek along fast farm areas and enjoy the scenic route through the Kalahari desert. Kalahari desert is part of a huge sand basin that stretches from Oranje River in the south to Angola in the north, from Namibia in the west to Zimbabwe in the east. “Sand Ridges”- long, wavy sand dunes - form the characteristic landscape of the Kalahari. The dunes are covered with small plants and the Kalahari is dominated by grasses, thorn bushes and acacia trees. Kalahari Farm House is situated on the outskirts of Stampriet. The lodge was built from an old mansion and has the atmosphere of an old Namibian farmhouse. Accommodation is in small comfortable cabins with a small veranda located in the beautiful garden. Day 4: Namib Desert
Leave the Kalahari desert and head west to the picturesque landscape of the Namib Desert. Namib-Naukluft Park is Namibia's largest nature reserve. The majority of its fast 50,000 square kilometers is not accessible for the public. Only the small portion north of the Kuiseb River, the Naukluft Mountains and the Sossusvlei dunes can be visited.
